All Tim Dorsey Novels
by Richard Huss
(Mount Dora, FL)
It amazes me that there is no mention of Tim, especially since his themes revolve around the eccentric and quirky history of all things and places "Florida."
His novels are roadtrips of hilarity and absurdity as Florida is seen through the manic eyes of his protagonist, Serge Storms and his sidekick, Coleman. In his own perverted way, Serge tracks the bad guys and creatively eliminates them while taking the reader on a romp that pretty much covers the state.
Dorsey's sense of history and Florida's historical details is monumental, eg, Lynard Skinner's first appearance in a honkytonk bar in Jacksonville, Silver Springs and movie fame, etc. As a plus, Dorsey has personally visited all these Florida spots in his vintage Cadillac convertible. If he writes about it, he's seen it, eaten it and loved it!
Dorsey is the quintessential combination of James Hall and Carl Hiassen. A must read author for anyone who says they "know" Florida authors.
