I have attended hundreds of these festivals over my years in Florida, and have enjoyed every single one of them. Most of the stuff from my modest Florida art collection was purchased at Florida art shows. Many of my music CD's were purchased at Florida folk or bluegrass festivals and art shows. There are hundreds of art festivals and shows in Florida every year, and I will mention a few of them on this website with links to more information. Look for events by region: Art and music are important ingredients, of course, but people watching is just as interesting. Not only that, the festivals often take place in nice places like historic Florida Main Street towns, Florida State parks, or great historic neighborhoods in larger cities. Attending one of the many outdoor festivals is like a combination of visiting a performing arts center and an art museum.
The visitors are among the performers, and it is fun to watch them enjoy the art, the music, the artists, and each other. Many people who attend festivals also like to bring their dogs. If you are a dog lover, you won't be disappointed. Food at the festivals is great. Most Florida art and music shows have food booths displaying the culinary arts of local restaurants. Gyros, Greek salads, arepas, shish kabobs, kettle korn, cotton candy, you name it you'll usually find it at a Florida festival. Most Florida art festivals and outdoor events take place from November through April. The sweltering Florida months of May through October keep people inside in the air conditioning. Festivals featuring folk and bluegrass music take place all year long in Florida, including the hot summers. Quite often they are held in the cooler evening hours. Additional Florida festivals will be placed on this website as we become aware of them. Readers are invited to use the "Create Your Own Web Page" feature to tell me about other festivals. Also, if you have attended a festival, please tell us about it by creating your own web page. CREATE YOUR OWN WEB PAGE Return From Florida Festivals |
