Gator Football Schedule
Means Busy Weekends

The Gator football schedule and the Seminole Football schedule can greatly impact weekend travel in North Central Florida.

I recommend checking the Gator football schedule (below) and the Seminole Football schedule before making a weekend trip in this region.

It's tough to get a motel room or campsite during football weekends unless you are more than an hour or so from either Gainesville and Tallahassee.

Florida Field At The University Of Florida I know of one large bed and breakfast in Gainesville who has Fridays and Saturdays of Gator game weekends booked for eternity.

The TBA for game time means "To Be Announced". This is the reality of big-time football in the television age. They can't pin down a kickoff time until the last minute.

When you attend a Gator game, you will want to know the words to "We Are The Boys From Old Florida". Here you go! Just sing along with the video.

We are the boys from old Florida
          F-L-O-R-I-D-A
Where the girls are the fairest,
          The boys are the squarest
Of any old state down our way

We are all strong for old Florida
Down where the old gators play
          In all kinds of weather
          We'll all stick together
          for F-L-O-R-I-D-A

To do this right, add a loud "HEY!" at the end of the first stanza, and shout a loud "GO GATORS!" after the line "Down where the old Gators play."

Hook arms with your neighbor, and sway back and forth through the whole song. When you get to the line "we'll all stick together," hold the word "together" two or three seconds, and hold your lean for those seconds.

Congratulations! You are now qualified to attend a Gator game at Florida Field.

You will also get extra points if you know that No. 11 in the 1960's photo below is Steve Spurrier, arguably the greatest Gator of them all.
