Magnolia Plantation Rocks!

by Travis McGee
(Fort Lauderdale, Florida)

Every time I visit Gainesville I stay at the Magnolia Plantation. It is a fantastic old Victorian home that has been restored by Cindy and Joe Montalto and their family.

The rooms may be quaint and alive with history, but they have all the modern conveniences, including private bathrooms and wireless internet connectivity.

Joe and Cindy are avid Florida Gator fans, and always have the latest scoop on what's going on with the football and basketball teams.

Breakfast is always delicious and on a flexible schedule. Since Gainesville is a university town, I usually find somebody interesting to talk to at the breakfast table.

The inn is a brief walk to a historic and restored area of Gainesville that has nice restaurants, shops and coffee places.

This is the place I recommend to my traveling friends.
