Robert N. Macomber. Honor series.

Robert Macomber has written an excellent series of nautical history books involving Peter Wake, based in Florida. I've read 8 of them and each one is an exciting learning experience. Highly recommend.

Well said re: Macomber's Honor Series

I've read the first 11 novels + can't wait for the 12th, The Assassin's Honor. I have learned so much real history effortlessly in his work - hard at times to remember it's a novel and not non-fiction. All part of Macomber's talent and evidence of his extensive research (most later novels have end notes for readers). I echo a very HIGH recommendation for his well crafted, maritime driven, espionage thrillers.
