THE VILLAGES FLORIDA HOTELSThe Villages Florida is a master planned retirement community that sprawls over Sumter, Lake and Marion counties in Central Florida along US-441/US-27 between Ocala and Leesburg. It is about 68 miles northwest of Orlando International Airport. The Villages is bounded approximately on the east by US 27/US 441, on the west by US-301, on the north by County Road 42 and on the south by Sumter County Road 466A. Sumter County Road 466 serves as the main east-west corridor, with Buena Vista Boulevard and Morse Boulevard serving as major north-south corridors. Hotels in and around The Villages are generally very new and modern, with reasonable rates. Here are my 3 favorite places to stay when I visit The Villages:
Comfort Suites The Villages, 1202 Avenida Central, Lady Lake, FL 32159. Tel: 352-259-6578. This is a modern, quiet and comfortable place close to everything in The Villages. You will feel right at home. It's right next door to the Holiday Inn Express, another place I recommend. Average rate $110-111.
Hampton Inn and Suites, 11727 NE 63rd Drive, The Villages, FL 32162. Tel: 352-259-8246. This modern place is very clean and comfortable and is close to everything in The Villages. The staff is also very helpful and can answer any of your questions about the area. Average rate $80-$126.
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, 1205 Avenida Central North, Lady Lake, Florida 32159. Tel: 877-859-5095. This new motel is very clean and comfortable and near everything you will want to see in The Villages. It is not far from the other two hotels. Average rate $98-$109.There are also hotels and some bed and breakfast inns nearby in the small Florida towns of Lady Lake, Leesburg, Ocala and Wildwood. A bit further away, but within an easy drive are Mount Dora, Gainesville and several other towns. Most people who visit The Villages, however, tend to want to stay there to look at property and check out the place's amenities.
