I remember citrus crates. This collection of pictures is priceless.
My mother knew citrus man Syd Herlong as a member of Congress. I grew up surrounded by citrus groves, some of them probably 50 years old. We had 25 in our yard, including a magnificent pink grapefruit tree and a navel whose oranges were big and sweet.
Nothing hits me quite like the fragrance of citrus blossoms in the spring.
