David JOHNSON was born in South Carolina about 1765. About 1790, he married
Martha HARDYMAN, born about 1765 in Virginia. He was in Georgia by 1820 and
had moved to Florida Territory by 1829 when his name appears on the Tax Rolls
of Leon County. He was also on the 1830 Federal Census of Leon County, Deeds,
Civil War Records, photographs of tombstones and other court records were put
to good use to establish proof of lineage. For example, the documented law
suit in which the relationship of MaryAnn DICKERSON, her son and grandchildren
was established. David and Martha's children were: Rowan; John; Martha, married
1) Benjamin SIRMANS 2) Simon WILSON; David, married Nancy BURNETT;and Mary,
married 1) John JONES, Jr. David died about 1834; Martha died about 1837.
