Some family names descended from John Lee: Hightower, Cason, Hunter, Pennington, Roberts, Smith, Walls, McLeod, Jones, Hogans, Cone, Chesire and MacDonald.

John Lee came to Hamilton County in the 1830's from St. Mary's, Georgia. He had some 18 children, in all, between his three marriages.

He was my GGG Grandfather. His descendants today number in the thousands, among the family names that came from his children are Hightower, Cason, Hunter, Pennington, Roberts, Smith, Walls, McLeod, Jones, Hogans, Cone, Chesire and MacDonald. He was remembered as a veteran of the Seminole Indian Wars and a civic leader during his many years in Hamilton County.
