I roam around Florida in my 2005 Lexus SC430 and would like to connect with other SC owners in the state.  My goal is to have a group to swap information with and go on occasional short road trips.

I moved to Florida in 1960 as a young man.  It was a different state back then, a pleasure to drive through the old towns and wander through the rolling hills, oak canopied roads draped with Spanish moss, piney woods, and citrus groves.

Now I'm an old man and things have changed.  Florida is laced with dangerously congested super highways. 

You can be driving along at 70 mph and suddenly have to put your brakes on, screech to a halt, then creep along at 2 mph stopping and starting and jerking along behind a mile of creeping crawly cars stacked up for miles ahead of you.

If you can take your eyes off the road long enough to look right or left you'll see new subdivisions, apartment buildings, and shopping centers popping up before your eyes - new ones appearing on every trip.

I SAY TO HELL WITH IT! 

I know the back roads and that's the way I go.  I don't worry about it taking longer to get there because I'm not in a hurry anyway.
