Main Street in Vero Beach, Florida is a historic downtown district. It spans 14th Avenue and nearby streets.
The area features shops, restaurants, and galleries. Main Street Vero Beach (MSVB), a nonprofit, preserves its history and supports local businesses.
The district is walkable with tree-lined streets. It’s a hub for community events and culture. Visitors enjoy its small-town charm and riverfront views.
Vero Beach began as Vero in 1919. The Florida East Coast Railway arrived in 1903, spurring growth.
The town was incorporated in 1919 and renamed Vero Beach in 1925. Main Street was the city’s heart, serving citrus farmers and early residents.
The Indian River Farms Company planned the town in 1912. By the 1920s, tourism grew, adding hotels and theaters.
MSVB, launched in 1998, revitalized the area. It preserved buildings like the 1926 Municipal Power Plant, now American Icon Brewery.
