The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse is a theater in Cocoa, Florida. Located in downtown Cocoa Village, it hosts community Broadway-style musicals.
The 500-seat venue features local volunteer performers. Known as “Broadway on Brevard,” it offers plays, concerts, and youth programs.
The playhouse promotes arts education. Visitors enjoy its historic charm and vibrant shows.
Opened in 1924 as the Aladdin Theater, it showed silent films. It featured a Barton organ for live music.
In 1939, Sparks Theater renamed it the State Theater. Kent Theatres bought it in 1960, calling it the Fine Arts Theater.
The City of Cocoa purchased it in the 1970s. In 1984, Brevard Community College acquired it for $1. Restoration began in 1985 with community donations.
It reopened in 1988 for musicals. The playhouse joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The City of Cocoa resumed ownership in 2011.
The playhouse is at 300 Brevard Avenue, Cocoa, Florida 32922. From I-95, take Exit 201 east on SR 520, then left on Brevard Avenue.
Showtimes vary; check their website for schedules. The box office opens one hour before performances. Doors open 30 minutes prior.
Call 321-636-5050 for tickets or group bookings. Shows often sell out, so book early. Street parking and a municipal lot on Florida Avenue are nearby.
Arrive early to park and explore Cocoa Village shops. No outside food or drinks are allowed.
